In theory, it’s only the meat of a mammal that counts as ‘meat’ and must not be eaten with milk, and birds are, like fish, neutral. So, having consulted with one friend who keeps Kosher I find I can give my co-worker a chicken sandwich with cheese on it. And then find out that my co-worker is following a certain decree that says you treat chicken as ‘meat’ and that my friend is, in fact, odd about chicken. It’s pretty interesting.

It’s generally a veggie or vegan version of the sausage gravy. My usual breakfast place has herb gravy that is so yummy I forget it lacks sausage, but not so much I don’t order a side of it.

When I use the adjective “hippie” in front of food it generally means vegetarian and/or vegan friendly.
