On the villiany of the thin person in the picture and how she’s less attractive, I’m going to assure Sasquatch I see it too.
It is very true that in this picture the bigger person (Kate) looks more attractive and the thin person looks less attractive.

But MeMe and Kate are each more than their bodies, for sure; as are we all. She’s MEME. She’s a prejudiced, hate mongering, anger spewing, shaming pox on our airwaves who causes incredible damage to people with nothing but her own prejudice to back up her claims.

So she’s thin, AND an awful, hateful asshole.

I think FJ captured that wonderfully.

Also, Kate’s totally going to KICK HER ASS.

That drawing is the funniest thing ever. And that dream is amazing, why can’t I dream about knife fights?

I don’t see anything wrong with it, they both have a serious kind of evil fight face going on, and Meme looks really skinny because… she’s very skinny. And maybe if you think FJ didn’t really go out of her way to make sure the Meme drawing was as nice as Kate’s, it may simply be because she and Kate are friends and Meme is just an unpleasant and offensive public figure with whom she has no relationship. But that wouldn’t have much to do with fat vs. thin, pretty vs. ugly either.

And you know, the automatic assumption that the artist was sexualizing me just because she drew a pretty faithful representation of my boobs doesn’t sit terribly well with me. The boobs are just a fact of my life. The sexualization of them in every fucking context imaginable, including a cartoon version of a dream-battle, is patriarchy in action.

Also THIS. I want a t-shirt with that phrase (or idea at least) written across the boobs in big bold letters.

I actually think FJ should have been a little more clear. Horns and a tail on MeMe, and perhaps some nice wings on Kate. Not because one is fat and one is skinny, but because one is cool and one is a complete screaming twit.

I guess the picture could look like “big v. skinny”, but it was carefully put into context, and the drawing is fabulously done enough that the people are clearly recognizable if you have seen pictures of them before.

I think the funniest part is that Lesley and Luke in the background look like a disco-dancing Greek Chorus.

This is entirely tangential, but every time I see a picture of Kate, I remember an old post about Al and think “I could look like Kate Harding… if I worked out.”
