    And awakeintheworld, I’ve been married for over 2 years, and seeing bridal magazines can still make me delighted that we are no longer planning a wedding. There were things that I loved about our ceremony and party, but the planning, oy. It brings out the crazy in all family involved.

    I was so happy to be at the wedding, to share in their big day mean’t a lot to me.
    I have secretly wished that Al would marry Kate, as I loved her the first time we met.
    My wish came true….and now I have a beautiful new
    daughter…..i am so blessed!

  77. I wish you both joy! Ed and I grow closer and happier every year, and I wish the same for you and Al. Plus, you apparently have the SECOND best MIL ever – mine is the best ever!

    Eloping is SO cool. I actually enjoyed the big wedding thing a lot, but then I used to like planning 500 person conventions, which is not far off.

    We actually took a couple of hours off work and had a JP courthouse marriage in March before our big church wedding in June. Just us and two of our best friends. Ed had just qualified for health insurance, so we got hitched so I could be on it.

    We didn’t elope, but we too have a late December anniversary. It’s a good time of year. :-)
