Kate, the world doesn’t suck. Nothing in life is ever exactly the way we want it to be. But many parts of it are really, really, really good.

But I’m also not ready to cheer over only one state. I definitely hope you’re right about the domino effect, but it’s not enough yet. Not even close.

Today, Mary and Heather can move here to Massachusetts and get legally married, spelled m-a-r-r-i-e-d, not civilly united. And one by one, like dominoes, other states will follow. The next generation will wonder what all the fuss was about.

Hah. Even if Mary Cheny names Heather as legal guardian, if it should come about that Heather would be the sole parent, expect the doting Grandpa Satan & Wife to swoop in and snatch little Samuel before anyone can even blink.
