Female professors: “We knew there was something wrong with him. We were afraid of him. We went to police and university administrators.”
Male professor: “Hey, let’s not feel guilty about not doing more. We couldn’t have known it would turn out like this.”

Women’s intuition, anyone?
Amen x100.
My husband is a Hokie. He finished his undergrad in 3 yrs and got the heck out of there. It’s a state school that heavily recruits out-of-state engineering students to improve its reputation. Lots of men. Lots of southern men, although there was also an attempt to diversify the student population. The school is in the middle of nowhere, and by nowhere, I mean nowhere.
Gemellen, that’s a charitable way to put it. I was thinking more along the lines of, “Women’s ability to SEE WHAT’S IN FRONT OF THEIR GODDAMNED FACES.”
Your way is nicer.
Such terrific observations. And fast too.
This is also a good post on the shootings, from a different angle.

And what do you propose they “did with him”? Lock him up in a psych ward? Throw him jail for minor offences?
Yes, let’s enter a minority report word.
Apparently the phenomenon of ‘women’s intuition’ is actually because genetically, women are better at percieving body language signals and non-verbal cues than men are. But Kate, I think you put it much better.
