This is what they’re aiming at boys. And this. Toy trains, sports–you know, things that are FUN. The girls, however, get to practice their fucking laundry skills.
I realize that my love for Pottery Barn is totally unhealthy and wrong, any way you slice it, much like my love for The Gap. There was never a good excuse for it, but now, finally, I’m done. It is the twenty-first goddamn century, and little girls are still supposed to consider pretend cleaning a form of play. The fact that there is apparently a market for this makes me want to sit on my dusty, dog-hairy floor and sob my fucking head off. Especially since it’s undoubtedly the same market it always was–little girls who want to be just like mom.
Maybe I can hire an ambitious 5-year-old to clean the brains off the wall after my head finally explodes.
